At approximately 1:30 p.m., Saskatchewan RCMP stopped a vehicle near Springside, SK. They arrested 29-year-old David Frank Burling along with an adult female, without incident.

Burling had been the focus of a manhunt throughout southeast Saskatchewan and southwest Manitoba after he was involved in an incident in Winnipeg and Niverville, MB overnight that saw officers shoot and kill another suspect.

Police spent the day chasing the suspect throughout areas including Esterhazy, Dubuc, Whitewood and Yorkton area. Residents in the area are asked to use caution. Do not stop for hitchhikers. Do not approach suspicious persons. Ensure homes and vehicles are locked.

Burling was driving a green 2016 Subaru CrossTrek with MB plate LJB 238. When arrested, the two suspects were in a silver vehicle and not in the green 2016 Subaru CrossTrek. Saskatchewan RCMP continue to ask members of the public to call 310-RCMP if they see the Subaru. They ask people to not approach it.
