It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Katherine Dean on Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, at the age of 87 years. Katherine is lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth Dean; her sisters, Janet (Karl) Zimmer, Beatrice Newman, Marlene (Ronald) Zimmer; sister-in-law, Agnes Baer; and many other family members and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Anne Baer; brothers, Victor (Agnes) Baer, Frankie (Hilda) Baer, Ernie (Rita) Bear, William Baer and Reynold Baer.
Katherine was born on Aug. 28, 1935 in Grayson, SK. On June 29, 1959 she married the love of her life, Kenneth Dean and they made their home in Regina where they lived for many years. Katherine worked at the Pasqua Hospital for over 30 years until she retired. They then moved to their cabin at the lake and that is where she lived until she went into the hospital.
Katherine loved living at the lake where she could watch the birds and squirrels eat on the bird feeder and some mornings if she was lucky, she would see a deer walk down the road. Katherine loved gardening and loved her flowers. Most of all she loved visiting with her family.
A funeral mass was celebrated by Rev. Glenn Zimmer, OMI, on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church in Fort Qu’Appelle SK. The interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery Columbarium.
