We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021 at the age of 82. Orest passed away peacefully with family by his side in the Intensive Care Unit, Regina Pasqua Hospital.
Orest was born Sept. 9, 1938 in the Headlands Post Office area (Lipton district), fifth child of Isaac and Annie (Wingerak) Kotylak. He was fortunate to be able to do what he loved and remained on the farm until his passing.
Orest was predeceased by his parents, Isaac and Annie Kotylak; mother and father-in-law, John and Mary Olinik; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Ned Hrynuik and their son Ricky; brother Don and his son Darren; and brother-in-law, Alex Mandziak. Also predeceased by members of Kathy’s family.
He will forever be loved and remembered by his wife of 56 years, Kathy; daughter, Gail (Kim) Senft and grandchildren, Dale (Tracey) and Jason (Lo); son, Daryl (Corena) and grandchildren, Kirsten and Matthew. Also survived by siblings, Olga Mandziak, Doreen (Julian) Antoneshyn, Walter (Verna); sister-in-law, Brenda; and numerous other relatives including Kathy’s siblings and spouses and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Valley Ambulance Care, Fort Qu’appelle All Nations’ Healing Hospital ER staff and the Regina Pasqua Hospital ICU staff for their exceptional care during this difficult time, with a special thank you to Katrina and Trisha for their compassion during his final hours.
A family gathering will take place at a later date when all can gather safely. Memorial donations may be made in Orest’s memory to the All Nations’ Healing Hospital Auxiliary.
