A memorial service for the late Harry Edward Paus of Balcarres, beloved husband of Shirley Paus, will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 3 p.m. from the Balcarres Lions Hall.
Harry Edward Paus was born on April 9, 1944 at the Balcarres Hospital, a son to Harry and Martha (nee Shelke) Paus.
He received his education at Mount Victory and Lebret Schools. Harry worked at the following mines: Lanigan, Lynn Lake and Esterhazy. He then started his career with the John Deere dealership in Balcarres as a heavy duty mechanic. He loved working with tools and could fix anything. He was known as “The Diesel Doctor” for his years of work with small engine repair from his own home.
Harry enjoyed the outdoors, snowmobiling, quading, hunting and barbecuing with Shirley at their cabin at Reserve, and entertaining their family and friends. Harry found time to hold a position on town council in Balcarres for over 20 years and taught the hunter safety course.
Harry entered his eternal rest with family at his side on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the Balcarres Integrated Care Centre after celebrating his 75th birthday on April 9.
Predeceased by his parents, Harry and Martha; and brother, David.
Harry leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Shirley; father to Darcy Stoffregen (Helen), Donald Stoffregen (Andrea), Jeffrey Stoffregen (Tara) and Cheryl Najjar (Issa); a grandpa to Paige Stoffregen, Lauren Stoffregen, Abbie Najjar, Mia Najjar and Annie Najjar; survived by his siblings, Fred Paus, Bernice Schaeffer, Richard Paus and Loretta Milanowich.
