On May 10, 2023, Yorkton RCMP received a report of a robbery at a residence on Myrtle Avenue in Yorkton.

Investigation determined a group of individuals confined an adult male in a residence, where he was physically assaulted and robbed. He was able to leave the residence and call for assistance. He was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Yorkton RCMP, with the assistance of the Yorkton RCMP Municipal General Investigation Section, executed a search warrant at a residence on Myrtle Avenue on May 13 in relation to this investigation.

Officers located and seized approximately 65 grams of illicit drugs – which was primarily methamphetamine with small amounts of cocaine and fentanyl – as well as trafficking paraphernalia, knives, a machete, a baton and an imitation firearm. They also located and seized a number of tools, which investigation has determined were stolen during recent local break-ins. Two individuals were arrested at the residence.

34-year-old Ian Musqua and 38-year-old Kristi Kraft, both from Yorkton, are each charged with:

– one count, forcible confinement, Section 279(2), Criminal Code;

– one count, robbery, Section 344, Criminal Code;

– one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine), Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;

– one count, possession (fentanyl), Section 4(1), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and

– one count, possession of property obtained by crime, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code.

Ian Musqua is also charged with two counts, fail to comply with probation order, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on May 18, 2023. Kristi Kraft is scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on June 19, 2023.

As a result of continued investigation, on May 16, 2023, Yorkton RCMP charged 43-year-old Troy Branconnier from Yorkton, 33-year-old Desmond Henry from Regina and 36-year-old Austin Keshane from Yorkton each with:

– one count, forcible confinement, Section 279(2), Criminal Code;

– one count, robbery, Section 344, Criminal Code;

– one count, possession of property obtained by crime, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code.

Warrants have been issued for their arrests and Yorkton RCMP are working to locate them.

Troy Banconnier is described as approximately 6’ and 200 lbs. He has brown hair, brown eyes and neck tattoos.

Desmond Henry is described as approximately 5’11” and 200 lbs. He has brown hair, hazel eyes and tattoos on his hands and arms.

Austin Keshane is described as approximately 6’3” and 250 lbs. He has black hair, which he sometimes wears shaved, brown eyes and tattoos near his ears and under his eye.
