Date of Birth: February 26, 1949

Date of Death: May 7, 2021

Gail Audrey (nee Duckett) Garden left this earth and turned to spirit on Friday, May 7, 2021 after living with cancer for 12 years. She died at home surrounded by her children and their enduring love for her.
She was predeceased by her mother, Audrey Duckett; and father, Harry Duckett; her great friend and sister-in-law, Ruth Garden; sister-in-law, Janet Garden; and very special great-aunts, Ada Hamill and Gloria Babin.
Gail is survived by her children, Sarah Garden (Colin Hall), Peter Garden (Rachel Engler-Stringer); grandchildren, Eli and Loa Garden-Hall and Amélie and Sophie
Garden-Stringer.
Gail was born on Feb. 26, 1949 to Harry and Audrey Duckett at the Regina General Hospial. She met Allan (Rob) Garden in 1969 and they were married in 1971 (separated in 1999). She tragically lost twin boys in December of 1972 but with the birth of Peter in 1975 and Sarah in 1977 she found her life’s calling as a mom. She was beyond dedicated. She was unconditionally supportive and proud of her children and grandchildren.
Gail was the neighbourhood mom, the one to count on for extra care, cookies and a safe ride home. She always knew when someone needed help and would drop everything to lend a hand.
Before having children, Gail worked for Industry and Commerce in Regina and at the mayor’s office in
Saskatoon. She modeled when she was young and continued to walk the runway until 2020. Gail was a tireless volunteer and when she wasn’t teaching kids how to read or play piano she was canvassing for charity. Her kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on hundreds. Though she is and will be missed always, Gail’s loving legacy will live on.
Gail’s second home was in the Qu’Appelle Valley on Echo Lake. Being at Echo Hills with her family and dog brought great joy. Gail spent hours bird watching, feeding squirrels and soaking up sunshine and peace. She respected nature and always wanted people to walk gently upon the earth. Gail loved music, especially live, played the piano every day, read voraciously, and enjoyed dancing. Her kind heart earned her many loyal friends.
She appreciated all the support she received and was especially grateful to Tracy Gardikiotis, Alyssa and the physiotherapy team at Pasqua; her doctor and friend, Didi Emokpare; oncologist, Dr. Zarkovic and staff at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, notably the chemotherapy nurses.
In lieu of flowers, Gail’s family would appreciate any donations being directed toward the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, #225 – 1874 Scarth Street, Regina SK S4P 4B3 earmarked for the Lymphedema Program. Family and friends are invited to view the online obituary and tributes page at www.reginafuneralhome.ca.
Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.
