Cynthia Gorecki (nee Hudy) of Melville, Sask., widow of the late James Gorecki, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020.
She was born on a farm in the McKim district on March 18, 1942. She was the youngest child of Frank and Angeline (nee Woiner) Hudy.
She was very artistic and in her younger years, she worked at Avalon Studios in Yorkton and other various jobs. She met the love of her life, Jim, and they were united in marriage on June 30, 1960. She kept busy raising her three children and working along Jim’s side at the H&R Block offices they operated for many years. She was an avid gardener and had a yard full of vibrant coloured flowers and many varieties of vegetables. She had a great appreciation for nature and took pride in the purple martins that nested in her yard each year. She was a wonderful cook and there was never a shortage of food or hospitality for those who came to her home.
She cherished her time she spent traveling with her husband and the solitude of their cabins. She also loved to travel and spend time with her children and grandchildren. Her family was the focus of her life.
She was predeceased by her father Frank and mother Angeline Hudy; her husband, Jim; brother-in-law, Leo Yelle; and sisters-in-law, Sharon Hudy and Doris Yelle.
She leaves to cherish her life: her daughter, Alanna (Monte) Erhardt of Yorkton; sons, Gordon (Heather) Gorecki of Esterhazy and Randy Gorecki of Yorkton; grandchildren, Jolene (Stu Gair) Erhardt of Regina, Sean Gorecki of Esterhazy and Madison (Patty Reed) Erhardt of Saskatoon; brother, Ron Hudy of Port Colborne, Ont.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roland and Donna Gorecki of Melville; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
