Patricia Smeets-Ruml passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, in her sleep on Thursday June 25, 2020 at the age of 59. Beloved wife and best friend of Mario Luburic for 11 years. Devoted mother of Ashley Miller, James Ruml and Krystina Ruml. Cherished sister of Larry (Juliette) Smeets and David (Donna) Smeets. She will be lovingly remembered by many friends and extended family members.
Patricia had a heart of gold. She always had a smile on her face, and she brightened any room she walked into. She had a wonderful laugh. Patricia loved to laugh and she loved to make you laugh. Patricia loved her family, her friends, her faith and having fun. Patricia had a huge heart. She was a kind and thoughtful soul. Her students knew her as ‘Ms. Pat’, and she was much loved by past and present students and colleagues.
A funeral mass was held at St. Thomas More Church, Niagara Falls, ON, on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 1 pm. Covid-19 restrictions were observed at a graveside, memorial service and internment held for family and friends on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at the St. Hubert Cemetery, Whitewood, Sask., with Rev. Yodel Cereno officiating.
