1917 – 2018
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ida Schmidt. Ida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2018 at the age of 101 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Schmidt — they were married for 64 years.
Ida is survived by her children: Gerald Schmidt, Gordon Schmidt (Crystal), Mervin Schmidt (Barb) and Evelyn Materi. Ida had 10 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ida had many passions, from cooking and baking, to gardening and beautiful works of art in her quilts and blankets. She will always be remembered for her unconditional love of her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Echo Lodge in Fort Qu’Appelle toward the recreational fund.
A funeral will be held at the Alliance Church, Fort Qu’Appelle on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018 at 2 p.m. Viewing available from 1 until 2 p.m.
Interment will be held in the Lipton Memorial Gardens.
