Doris Cyr

Suddenly, on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, our mom, Doris Cyr of Fort Qu’Appelle, started her journey to the spirit world at the age of 87 years.
She was born on the Cowessess First Nation on Feb. 17, 1929, to Hilda Pelletier and J. N. Lerat.
Mom was predeceased by her only son, James; brothers, Victor, Edward; twin brothers, Sydney and Richard; sisters, Yvonne Delorme, Bertha Dyck, Jessie Pelletier-Fontaine; her children’s father, J.B. Cyr; brothers and sisters-in-law from the Cyr family; special nephew, Reynold Delorme; special sister-in-law, Bernice; great-grandchild, Kyle Pinay; and special friend of many years, Norman Thomas.
Doris is survived by her children: Lydia Cyr of Pasqua Lake; daughter-in -law, Bette Cyr and children, Reg (Charly) and Nicole of Vancouver; Lorraine (Elgin) Pinay of Peepeekisis First Nation and children, Jason (Ivy) from Walsh, Alta.; Cordell (Arlene) of Peepeekisis; Brydon (Maria) of Fort Qu’Appelle; Shelenda (Cam) of Peepeekisis and Meldon Peigan, Peepeekisis; Laura Bernice (Daniel) Cyr of Maple Creek and her children; mom’s special grandson, Kelly (Maureen) Cyr of Fort St. John, B.C.; Tonya (Brian) Missens of Maple Creek; Trevor (Billie) McNaughton of George Gordon First Nation; Jan Cyr and son, Ryan Missens of Fort Qu’Appelle; chosen daughter, Rhonda (Gilbert) Laframboise and her children, Trina, Tyler and Tara, all of Regina; her sisters, Gladys Pelletier and Joyce (Walter) Pelletier; and brother-in-law, Henry Cyr. Also surviving her are 33 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews who were all very special to her.
We celebrated her life at Chief Ben Pasqua Hall, Pasqua First Nation with a wake at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016.
Funeral service took place at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31. Cremation and interment at a later date. Elder Harry Francis and Father Louis Nguyen officiating. Due to severe allergies, please no perfumes or after shave.
The family thanks the Pasqua First Nation Chief, council and community for their support.
