Joseph Serfas passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, at the age of 93 years.
Joseph was born on March 19, 1931, in Mytinca, Poland, to Karl and Maria Serfas. They immigrated to Canada in 1938. He was raised in the Duff area and attended and completed his education at Colmer School.
Joseph ran a mixed farm in the Duff area from 1947 to 2006, then moved to Melville in 2012. In 2020, he moved to Caleb for six months, then moved to St. Paul Lutheran Home.
Joseph was predeceased by his parents, as well as his siblings, Ida (Daniel) Hing, Sophie (Ernie) Reimer, Rudy (Judy) Serfas, Marie Whittmire and Emma (Chris) Kohlenberg, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held for Joseph on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Melville City Cemetery with the Rev. Kim Sherwin officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.
