Ernest Millen Parsons was born on Nov. 11, 1948, in Kamloops, BC. His childhood was spent living in both Alberta and British Columbia. Ernie met his cherished partner, Elizabeth Brook, in Edmonton, and they were later married in 1982 in Toronto, ON. Ernie and Beth built a life filled with love and the shared passion of travelling around Canada. They lived in Vancouver, Edmonton, and then finally residing in the Neudorf, SK, area.
Ernie dedicated over 30 years to the CN Rail, working his way up from Linesman to Locomotive Engineer to Conductor. He was known for his unwavering commitment to his job, as he had the railroad business in his blood. His father ran the telegram office for the railroad for 30 years, and his grandfather ran the New York Central railroad until his passing!
Ernie had a quiet demeanor and gentle spirit that touched the lives of all who knew him. A man of simple pleasures, he found joy in the intricate worlds of model trains and airplanes. His meticulous attention to detail shone through in his hobbies as he often spent hours immersed in his projects, finding peace and fulfilment in the art of creation.
Ernie passed away on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at the age of 76 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Melville, SK.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Regina (Sprack) Parsons. Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Elizabeth (Brook) Parsons; his son, Patrick, and family; his sister, Barbara (Parsons) Shillington; and brother-in-law Clifford Shillington. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty he cherished in life.
