Date of Birth: May 4, 1961
Date of Death: April 16, 2024
Glen Emke, age 62, passed away suddenly at his residence in Grenfell, SK on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
Glen never ventured far from his home town of Grenfell, he worked at many things over his short life. Most recently he enjoyed working for Dimler farms and the Legacy Hotel and made many strong and lasting friendships with a company that treated him like family. He was given many opportunities for advancement and was proud of his accomplishments, for that, our family would like to sincerely thank everyone at Double Bar D.
Glen enjoyed fishing, hunting and collecting old tractors. With his collection alone he could have started his own Tractor Museum. They brought him pride and joy. He also enjoyed being the host of many get-togethers around a campfire and especially at his farm. But, Glen really loved his Cuban and two Mexican vacations in the past 12 years with Linda and made so many cherished memories.
Glen loved his family and would make a point to tell them that he loved and appreciated them as often as possible, sometimes with a hug but most frequently with a text and a nickname.
Glen was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Marianne Emke.
He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Linda Rose Schneikart; step-children Curtis (Crystal) Schneikart and Deborah Durand (David); elder sister Martha Kaczmar; younger sister Elaine Emke; brother-in-law Willie Kardash; younger brothers Ronald (Sharlene) and Donald (Tracy) whose memories, adventures, inside jokes and nicknames will hold special places in their hearts; his nephews Raymond Lichacz, Ryan Lichacz and Joshua Emke; nieces Lynn (Sean) Burdeniuk and Brittany (Marvin) Hankins; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends and the great-nephews and nieces. He had a knack for making friends easily and making all friends feel like his best friend.
Glen always had a smile on his face and would take the time to have a friendly visit.
He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them – and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with pride, strength and full of love for those who went before him and those he left behind. He will be missed dearly.
In typical Glen fashion, there will be a private graveside service, certainly no pomp and circumstance. A celebration of life will occur at a later date.
