Having hockey fun - The U7 Green and U7 White teams played a friendly game on Saturday morning (Jan. 20) as part of the Indian Head Minor Hockey Day events.

There was a bustling atmosphere at AJM Davies arena on Saturday, Jan. 20 when families and fans gathered for Indian Head Minor Hockey Day events.
Hockey Day in Saskatchewan is an annual initiative that celebrates the notable role of hockey programs and rinks in Saskatchewan communities. During the third week of January, local hockey players take to the ice and fundraising opportunities are organized to support facilities in communities throughout the province. Kinistino hosted the official Hockey Day in Saskatchewan this year, but corresponding minor hockey events are organized by local groups in other towns.
Activities at Indian Head’s arena started early last Saturday with a pancake breakfast. Hockey action then began with a friendly game between the Chief’s two U7 teams. This was followed by similar games for the two local U9 teams and the two U11 teams. In the afternoon, Indian Head’s U13 Green players faced the Quad Town Rebels and the U13 White team played the Whitewood Elks.
Grenfell Athletic Association hosted similar Minor Hockey Day events earlier in January. Wolseley Sportsplex has a full day of games scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 3, with breakfast and supper fundraisers planned to support their ice plant replacement project.
