It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harry Uhll announces his passing on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Melville, SK, at the age of 93 years.
Harry was born Nov. 25, 1929, in Melville and was raised in the Hubbard and Birmingham areas. On Sept. 29, 1953, he was united in marriage to Vivian Davis. They were blessed with two children, Katherine in 1954 and Warren in 1969. Harry worked hard for his family and was a loving and dedicated provider.
The family resided in and around Melville while Harry worked away from home for 20 years. He later owned and operated a backhoe service and then built gravel screeners. Harry and Vivian loved to hunt, fish and camp with family and friends.
Harry was predeceased by his parents, Margaret (nee Rathgeber) and Adolph Uhll; brothers Philip and Ernie; and sisters Alvina and Adeline. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Vivian; his children, Katherine (Hal) and Warren; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Clarence; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Harry’s funeral service was held Friday, April 21, 2023, at Matthews Funeral Home, Melville, with Pastor Rick Gibson officiating. The pianist was Kathleen Gibson, and Kathy Thomas delivered the eulogy. All those whose lives Harry touched were considered honorary pallbearers, and the active pallbearers were Ian Thomas, Rebekah Thomas, Zoâ Thomas, Mia Butterfield, Gaspar Thomas and Lane Butterfield. Interment took place in Koenigsberg Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.
