Date of Birth: December 16, 1927

Date of Death: October 23, 2022

Joyce Geraldine Scott (nee Willcox) of Regina passed away peacefully at the age of 94 years on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022.
Joyce was born Dec. 16, 1927 in Grenfell and married Kenneth Scott in 1961. They lived together in Estevan, Squaw Rapids and Regina until he passed away in 1973.
Joyce was predeceased by her brothers, Tod (Helen – also deceased) Willcox and Medford (Alice – also deceased) Willcox; and her sister, Betty (Donald) Shackleton.
Joyce did not have children of her own but is remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Even though so many were separated by distance across Canada, they kept in touch with their Aunt Joyce through birthday and Christmas cards, phone calls, and even by emails that were passed along to her through other family members.
In her younger days, Joyce enjoyed travelling, camping and fishing. She also enjoyed many concerts and fashion shows over the years. She would like to thank the friends she relied on for so many years, some who she met working at SGI and the Cooperators, some who were part of the Prairie Chicks group, and those who helped take her to church regularly, among others. Joyce appreciated the numerous rides to stores to go shopping, and, yes, the rides back to return the goods purchased!
Joyce moved from a quiet apartment to one in Wintergreene where she greatly enjoyed the senior living lifestyle with dining room meals, van rides and entertainment. She was very happy with the staff and resident friends met there. Six years ago, her needs changed and she moved to the Harbour House assisted living area, conveniently located on the next floor.
Joyce’s nieces would like to express their sincere appreciation for the care givers and workers in Harbour House. We thank you for taking care of her personal needs as well as encouraging her to participate in various activities and exercise classes. We know how challenging it was from time to time, and we truly are thankful to all of you. Joyce lived in an apparently frugal manner however, several years ago, she established a charitable foundation in the name of JG & KB Scott which generously donates annually to her church and her chosen charity and will continue in perpetuity.
The family will have a private interment service as per her wishes. A celebration of life for those who wish to see photos and share memories with the family will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Family and friends are invited to leave tributes at www.reginafuneralhome.ca.
Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.
