With saddened hearts, the family and friends of Marlene Baumgartner (nee Senft) announce her passing on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021.
Marlene was born on Dec. 9, 1937, on the family farm near Lemberg, SK, to Daniel and Katarina Senft (nee Schindel) and was the youngest of 10 siblings.
Marlene was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Baumgartner, whom she married in 1966, and they set their home in Melville, SK, where they lived happily together.
Marlene is survived by one sister, Gladys Gerle and husband Richard, and sister-in-law Velma Senft, and was predeceased by her other four sisters and four brothers. She will be fondly remembered by a large extended family of numerous nieces and nephews across the country.
Marlene had a professional career working with the RCMP at the Melville Detachment, receiving recognition for 29 years of service. She spent her last peaceful days with the wonderful staff at St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville, whom we greatly thank.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, at St. Henry’s Roman Catholic Church, Melville, SK, with the Rev. Fr. Andrew Sowa, OMI celebrating. Len Gadica was the organist and played the hymns “Amazing Grace”, “Just a Closer Walk with Thee” , “In the Garden” and “Here I am Lord”. Interment took place at St. Henry’s Parish Cemetery, Melville.
Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.
