Arthur Lawrence Yeadon of Neudorf, Sask. entered his eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Melville at the age of 85 years.
Arthur was born at the homestead SW 33-19-8 W2 on Sept. 25, 1935 to Bernard and Matilda Yeadon. Arthur was their only child and after the passing of his dad he took over the family farm and spent the rest of his life establishing roots in the land and the community.
Arthur married the love of his life, June Irene, on June 24, 1960. Together they raised four sons, Larry, Dale, Ken and Murray. Arthur instilled the value of faith, family and hard work into his boys. There was always work to do on the farm, but there was always time for fun too. They would spend summers at the lake, winters in the rink and evenings visiting friends and neighbors.
Arthur loved to drive anything and everything. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t drive, even his pedal bike in Mesa where Art and June spent nine winters.
Arthur loved a good meal and lucky for him June was a fabulous cook. One of his favorites was all you can eat shrimp at Bonanza. After June’s passing he continued to cook, he maintained a large garden and would make pickles, soups and even baked pies.
Arthur loved sitting in his screened-in porch watching the birds and listening to old time polka music. He would Facetime each of his boys every evening to check in and see how everyone was.
Arthur was predeceased by his loving wife June in 2018; his parents, Bernard and Matilda; his sister-in-law, Winnifred and brother-in-law Edward Schmidt.
Arthur leaves Larry (Adele), Allison (Matt), Katelyn (Travis), Jared (Meagan), Erin; Dale (Lisa), Ava; Kenneth (Lisa),
Andrew, Liam; Murray (Marla), Dylan, Sarah to honor his memory. His family will cherish all the special moments, the hugs, the laughter and his unconditional love.
