The Yorkton RCMP Detachment has recently taken multiple complaints of a text message scam. Individuals receive a text message on there cellular device saying they have qualified for relief money related to COVID 19. The text message includes a link to click on and follow the instructions. Individuals are then asked to give personal information including their names, birthdates and social insurance numbers. Individuals are reminded to exercise caution and avoid providing any sort of personal information to suspicious text messages.
