Joan Cecelia Ann was born July 25, 1923 in the St. Hubert’s district, to Arthur and Jessie (nee Hill) Jordens. She was a very private person, honest and strong-minded, with a direct approach to life and a good sense of humour. She was also a steady worker.

Upon her return to Whitewood, she worked for Sandberg Meats for 15 years, then the Bake Shop in Broadview. She retired in 1979 and came back to Whitewood to live with her sister. Together they enjoyed many trips over the years. Joan later joined the seniors’ club in Whitewood, enjoying socializing with her many friends.
Joan was an excellent entertainer, playing the piano for many years right up into her 90s to the enjoyment of all; she had a natural “play by ear” talent.

She leaves to mourn her passing: sister, Marjory Jordens; two nieces, Judy Raiwet (George) and family; Karen Kolman (Allen) and family; two nephews, Donald Jordens (Gail) and family; David Jordens (Lori) and family; and many dear cousins and friends.
A graveside service was held on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 at the Whitewood Cemetery with the Rev. Fr. Yodel Cereno presiding.
