KITSCH – Margaret Kitsch, beloved wife of Ken Kitsch, went to her eternal home on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018 at St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon, at the age of 85 years and two months.
Margaret (Mugs) was born to John and Annie (Kowalyk) Sass on July 21, 1933, north of Melville. She was educated in Melville and after schooling, worked for a time in Regina and Winnipeg, then 20 years for
MacLeods after marriage.
On Nov. 20, 1954, Margaret married Ken Kitsch in Melville; they had three children: Robert was born in October 1955, Cheryl was born in May 1957, and Donald arrived in November 1958. She was a very loving and caring person, sharp-witted, with a great sense of humour. She was a devoted wife, mom, nana and great-nana.
In her younger years, Margaret enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking, every summer at the cabin on Crooked Lake, and much, much more with her family.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Fred; and sisters, Sophie and Gladys.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Ken; son, Robert (Eleanor) of Smeaton; daughter, Cheryl (Allan) Glowa of Melville; and son, Donald of Houston, B.C. Margaret also had six grandchildren, Chellan (John) Barsi of Otthon; Conrad Glowa of Yorkton; Dustin Glowa of Victoria, B.C; Vanessa (Jake) Surrey of Calgary, Alta.; Chantel Kitsch of Kelowna, B.C; and Kalin Kitsch of Calgary, Alta. Her family also has four great-grandchildren, Dylan and Ian Barsi, Riley Bowman and Cooper Surrey.
Margaret was much loved and will be greatly missed.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church, Melville, with the Rev. John Niemenen officiating. The organist, Darren Kitsch, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, “I Trust, O Lord, Your Holy Name,” “Abide with Me,” and “I Know That My Redeemer Lives,” with Kyler Kitsch on the trumpet. The choir shared an anthem, “Entrust Your Days and Burdens.”
Interment followed in the Melville City Cemetery with Dylan and Ian Barsi as urn bearers.
Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.
