A family burial and memorial service was held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, for our beloved mother, Joyce.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ross, in 2012; sister, Norma (Chuck Bowler); her brothers, Bruce, and Glenn (Lillian); brother-in-law, George Graham; grandson, Chad Goodbrand; and on Thursday, June 14, 2018, by her son, Brian.
Mom leaves to mourn her daughter, Colleen; son, Bob (Ivy); daughter-in-law, Diane; grandchildren, Erika, Kristine (Quinton), Mike (Dell); Tammy, Jody; Derek, Benton (Leon), Ian (Vicky); Amy; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Doris Graham; sister-in-law, Dickie Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Joyce was born and raised on the farm in Palmer, SK. In 1942, she came to teach at Kingsley School south of Broadview. She married Ross Goodbrand and raised the family on the farm south of Broadview.
They moved into Broadview in 1966 and mom taught school in Broadview until her retirement in 1981. Mom loved the farm, gardening, knitting and crafts including many sweaters and afghans for her family.
Mom always enjoyed the many community and social activities in town including bowling, curling and golfing. Mom and dad toured the prairies and enjoyed their many winters as snowbirds.
We wish to thank our friends, relatives and neighbours for their condolences, thoughts, prayers and cards for our mom and brother, Brian. Special thanks for the loving care that Mom received while she was in Broadview House and Broadview Centennial Lodge. The Goodbrand family.
