Marguerite Lucy Scott was born on Feb. 24, 1925 in Dauphin, Man. She passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 in Rosetown, Sask. at the age of 93 years.
Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Marian (Don) Russell and children: Candice (Shawn) and children, Taylor and Jered; Francis (Katrina); Lexie (Kyle) and children, Mady and Barrett; and Lance (Anna); daughter, Marlene (Wayne) Isley and children: Clinton (Cindy); Carol Lee (Mike); brother, Alvin (Helen); as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter; brother, Richard (Vera) Westberg; sister, Doris (Ken) Bowman, sisters-in-law, Ivy (Ian) Thompson and Kathleen (Ernie) Hogg; and nieces, Jo-Ann and Carol.
Marguerite moved to Whitewood, Sask. in 1930 when her parents purchased land south of town. She attended her schooling years at St. John’s School.
Marguerite met the love of her life, Walter Scott, two miles down the road, and they were married on Dec. 4, 1947 when they took over the Scott family farm. They raised two beautiful daughters, cattle, horses, chickens, cats, dogs… they had it all!
Marguerite waitressed tables for 13 years. She loved her gardening, quilting, sewing, curling, playing cards and socializing with friends and family. Family and community history were a passion for her. She will be missed by all.
Funeral service was held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at the Whitewood United Church with Pastor Lynn Callfas officiating. The eulogy was given by Marguerite’s daughter, Marlene Isley. Pallbearers were Wayne Isley, Don Russell, Clinton Whyte, Terry Westberg, Mike Hollis and Dean Westberg. Ushers in the church were Ross and Jane Bowman, and Carol Lee Isley and Cindy Haggarty tended the register.
