Date of Birth: July 12, 1947

Date of Death: April 6, 2018

Dave passed away unexpectedly with his faithful buddy, Bay-Lee, at his side on Friday, April 6, 2018.
Dave was born in Whitewood Sask. on July 12, 1947 to Ray and Phyllis Shepherd. He attended school in Whitewood and spent his childhood on the family farm north of town. Dave’s family cherishes the memories of these times, remembering the makeshift sports teams and the antics only the Shepherds would come up with.
Dave left Whitewood at a young age and worked temporarily in Regina before moving to Calgary, Alta. He had a long and successful career in the RV industry, finding adventures and making life-long friends. Later in life, Dave and his wife, Jo Ann, enjoyed RVing throughout Canada and the U.S. and numerous trips to Mexico. They also spent a lot of time in Hawaii with their daughter, Jay, her family and friends.
Dave is lovingly remembered by daughter, Jay, son-in-law Spike, and grandchildren Jayden and Jace. He loved being a grandfather – Jayden and Jace were loved deeply. He carried many pictures of them at various ages in his wallet and was quick to talk about what they were doing. He and Jayden had a very close and special relationship, one he deeply cherished.
He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Wayne (Sue), Douglas (Debbie), George (Audrey), Keith (Karen), Phyllis Frier and Sandra White (Walter); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and very good friends.
Dave was predeceased by his beloved Jo in January 2017. He felt very grateful for the loving support he received from his second family at Western RV. Bruce, Cindy and staff were a big part of his life. He was proud to be part of the Western family, always up for a challenging repair or the re-model of an auction find.
Dave was also predeceased by his parents, Phyllis (Black) in 1986 and Raymond in1976; two brothers-in-law, Gary Frier and Barry Mitchell in 2012.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dave can be made to the SPCA. A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at a later date.
