HEINS – Melissa, of Melville, SK, passed away suddenly on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 at the age of 26 years.
Melissa Holly Heins was born Sept. 29, 1991 in Winnipeg, MB, to Joanne and Jim Heins, and was a sister to Josh.
When Melissa was little she loved horses, running, and cats; her love of cats carried through to her older years. She grew up a farm girl and always kept her love for the outdoors. Melissa loved watching hockey and her favorite team was the Ottawa Senators. She also had a love for cooking, so she went to college in Ottawa and got a degree in culinary arts.
Melissa loved to travel and had been to 11 countries. She was independent and moved around a lot. She eventually settled on a job in Melville with Canadian National Railways, and she loved it. When Melissa met her boyfriend Chris, Melville really turned into her new home.
Melissa’s life was celebrated Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017 at Matthews Funeral Home, Melville with Brenda Zelko and Padre Michael Bruce officiating. Tributes to Melissa were offered through music and words from family, friends and co-workers.
Interment followed in the Melville City Cemetery with her family acting as her pallbearers.
Melissa’s family would like to thank everyone for their support and many acts of kindness during this most difficult time.
