Laurie Graham Merkel, 61, died Friday, March 10, 2017 in San Pedro, Belize. Laurie was born March 10, 1956 in Gainsborough, Sask. to Harold and Noreen Merkel.
Laurie is survived by his wife, Lorna Merkel; his sister- in-law, Janice Merkel; his brother, Paul Merkel and wife Patricia; his sister, Lila Kingston and husband Gerald; his sister, Heather Szakacs; 12 nieces and nephews, and 14 great-nieces and nephews.
Laurie was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Noreen Merkel; his older brother, Chris Merkel; and his brother-in-law, Garth Szkacs.
A celebration of life for Laurie will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Broadview Community Hall at 2 p.m.
