Date of Birth: October 26, 1943
Date of Death: December 20, 2016
Hi, my name is Dianne Wihlidal. I was born in Melville, Sask. on Oct. 26, 1943. I was raised on a farm near Melville. I married in 1964 and together we raised three boys. We moved to Regina in 1968 where I worked for the Co-op and at many bingos. I kept busy riding bike, camping, travelling — especially to the United States and Kimberley, B.C. — playing cards, socializing, gardening and being a hockey and baseball mom. I also enjoyed old-time music, baking bread and cooking cabbage rolls and other dishes. I really loved nature, and am especially fond of butterflies and hummingbirds.
I leave to cherish my memory: three great boys, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom I cherish and love dearly; son, Brent and Leann Wihlidal, children: son, Stephen and Brittany Happy, and their son, Alex; daughter, Melissa Wihlidal; son, Brett Wihlidal; son, Murray Wihlidal, children: daughter, Taylor Wihlidal and (fiancé, Cody Christoph) and son, Dalton Wihlidal; son, Tim Wihlidal and (Meiying Quan), children: daugthers, Ning Lin, Ai Lin and sons, George Wihlidal and Noah Wihlidal; as well as her siblings, Harold Rubisch, Leona Novakowski (Clarence Adams) and Bernadette (John) Gottschalk, all of Melville.
Predeased by father, George Rubisch; mother, Eva (Goveronski) Rubisch; as well as her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Dianne entered her eternal rest on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina at the age of 73 years.
A private family funeral service was held on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 from the Chapel of Bailey’s Funeral Home in Melville.
