Alice Wilson (Rodgers) (Vennard) was born April 11, 1930 on her parents’ farm north of Whitewood in the Forrest Farm district.  She was the second youngest of nine children born to John Henry Vennard and Edith Mae Spencer.  Alice married Wallace Rodgers and from this union four children were born, Sharon, Suzette, David and Darwin.

Alice was predeceased by her first husband Wallace Rodgers, second husband Chester Wilson and common-law spouse Ron Leslie; all of her siblings; father-in-law Clifford Rodgers; brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Kay Rodgers; and great-granddaughter Ava.

Alice is survived by: daughter Sharon (Bert Page) and family Mark Jordens (Sharleen Cholik), Colleen (Jared) Buitenhuis and Cason,  Cam (Tracey) Page and Candace (Jay) Varjassy and their families; daughter Suzette  (Dwayne) Stone and family Christine (Darcy) Ginnis, Cordell (Kassie Ouellette), Justice and

Sierra, and  Michelle Stone; son David (Cori) Rodgers and family Christopher (Jayme), Adam (Kimberley); son Darwin (Janice) Rodgers and family Jeremy, Mike (HeyRin) Rodgers, Sarah (Joshua) and Laura; stepdaughter Myrna (Henry) Zilm and family; sister-in-law Marjorie (Bruce) McCarthy and family; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Alice was held on Monday, August 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Whitewood United Church in Whitewood.  Celebrant for the service was Shirley Schlamp with pianist Kim Brule leading the congregation in the singing of the hymns; “Jesus Loves Me (No Matter What Age I Am)”, “How Great Thou Art”, and “Amazing Grace”.  Eulogists were Michelle Stone and Sarah Rodgers.  Interment took place in the Whitewood Cemetery following the service with Cordell Ginnis, Mark Jordens, Christopher Rodgers, Adam Rodgers, Jeremy Rodgers and Michael Rodgers as pallbearers.  Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Whitewood.
