Marjorie was born and raised in the Melville district, farming with her husband Kelly until they retired and moved to Saskatoon in 2003.
The farm and her family was the love of her life. Painting was truly her passion in life, painting scenes from the prairies, northern Saskatchewan, wildlife and flowers and her magnificent stormy cloud scenes, she was able to bring so much life into all her paintings. As many family, friends and others can attest to, having a “Marji” painting hanging on your wall brought as much enjoyment into your home or office as the enjoyment she received in doing the painting.
Marji loved the farm and took great pride in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was renowned for her fantastic meals and always had plenty on hand for whoever may drop by, which was quite often. Many nieces and nephews spent their summer days at the farm where they were always welcomed with her love and generosity. Marjorie loved her community and was always there to help those in need. She will be deeply missed.
The Mass of Christian burial for Marjorie J. Alberts was celebrated on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Philip Neri Parish (1902 Munroe Ave. South) in Saskatoon, Sask.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saskatoon Foundation (101 – 308 4th Ave. N., Saskatoon, Sask., S7K 2L7).
