Date of Birth: February 28, 1933

Date of Death: December 21, 2015

Paul Hatvaney passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at the age of 82 years.

Paul was born in the Whitewood district on February 28, 1933 to Nickolas and Mary (nee Miliski) Hatvaney.

The love of Paul’s life was his farming and animals.  He believed in the traditional way of farming by crop rotation. He would have the blackest summer fallow and the nicest crop on the same quarter the next year. When he had cattle, they were tended to like pets. Eating time for them was done by the clock, even if it meant cutting short his visits for their feeding time. He always had dogs that he loved to spoil. In later years, when Paul no longer had cattle, he fed many deer, elk and moose that passed through his yard.  Paul lived a very simple, quiet life, but he was always available if a friend needed a hand.

Paul was predeceased by his parents; his sister Mary and her husband Ralph; an infant brother; nephew Larry Johnson and niece Shelley Geysen. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by nephew Philip Johnson (Debbie) of Saskatoon; cousin and good friend, Glen Robinson; his great-nieces and nephews Donovan Johnson, Jennifer (Craig) Chatterson, Holley (Steve) Hermann, Regan (Shayla) Johnson, Kristi (Ryan) Johnson, Kayla (Shane) Kaminski, Ora-Lynn Geysen, Derrian (Matt) Geysen and Kelhn Geysen; and great-great-nieces and nephews Kenadie, Kaylee and Karsten Chatterson, Paige and Justin Hermann, Shyla Kaminski and Sadie Johnson.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at St. Matthew’s Cemetery, in the Forrest Farm district which was followed by a memorial reception in the Legion Community Hall, Whitewood.  Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Whitewood.
