It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wonderful, compassionate and devoted dad, grandpa and great-grandpa.
Dad is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Helen; sisters, Betty (Joe Hack) and Audrey (Olaf Wikman); brother, Richard (Helen); and the mother of his children, Joy Mann.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, David (Val), Wayne, Rodney (Joanne Magnuson), June (Diane Taylor), Sheila, Connie (Dan) Perras and Robert (Karen); his grandchildren, Sarah (Sebastian), Ashli (Curtis), Dylan (Angel), Brook (Ryan), Brianna, Deshawn and Daleah; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Jade, Tye, Thomas, Beckett and Jaxon. Also to mourn his loss is his brother, Dennis (Joanne); close family friend, Sharon Melnyk; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Dad was the proud owner of Mann’s Painting from 1950-56 and worked as a carman for the Canadian National Railway from 1956 until his retirement in 1988.
Dad’s life revolved around spending quality time with his family as this was when he was the happiest. Dad loved to fish, camp and enjoy the great outdoors, he also liked to feed and watch birds, doing word puzzles, playing Skip-Bo, going to threshing bees, long drives in the country, quading, and golfing. Dad grew up on the family farm east of Melville and resided in the City of Melville until his passing. Dad continued to assist his brother, Dennis, on his farm during and after his working career.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Peter’s Hospital in Melville, for your compassion and helpfulness during our dad’s final days.
