HUBENIG – It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Helen (nee Presiloski) Hubenig on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015. She passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital at the age of 93 years.
Helen was born March 5, 1922 in Valley River, Man. to Joseph and Anna (nee Gnodowski) Presiloski, and was the wife of the late Ambrose Hubenig. Together with her husband, they owned and operated
Hubenig’s Electric in Melville for many decades.
Helen was a zealous member of the local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and enjoyed sharing with others her bible-based hope. Her strong work ethic, legendary cooking and generous, open-hearted hospitality and kindness were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, siblings, husband Ambrose and son Barry.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her sister-in-law, Alma Taylor of Melville; daughter-in-law, Sandy (Sid) Klynstra of Yorkton, Sask.; her three granddaughters, TJ Anderson (Doug) of Okotoks, Alta., Allison Hubenig of Leduc, Alta. and Andy Hubenig (Brian Hamel) of Coleville, Sask.; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; as well as the Brothers and Sisters of the Melville Congregation.
A funeral will be held for Helen on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah’s Witnesses, Melville with interment to take place in the Melville City Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Kingdom Hall, Melville.
