BABER – With profound
sadness, we announce that Beverley Dianne Baber passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at the age of 58 years.
Bev was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Joan Atkinson; aunt Janice; cousin Heather; and father-in-law, Herb Baber.
Bev will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dan; their children: Tanya (Fred), Josh (Sarah) and Chris; and her grandchildren, Jaida, Brooklyn and Abbey. Also left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Chris (Noelle) and Glenn (Gail); mother-in-law, Irene; sisters-in-law, Judy (Ron) and Lorna; and brother-in-law, Tim; nieces and nephews, Michelle (Joao), Michael, Lindsay, Henry, Stefan, Shane and Claire; and great-niece, Shelby.
Bev was born April 22, 1957 in Regina, Sask. to Harry and Joan Atkinson. She was the first
of three children and had two younger brothers, Glenn and Chris. On July 21, 1984, Bev married her soulmate, Dan Baber, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Regina, and they lived in Regina until moving to Neudorf in 1986. They were blessed with three children, Tanya, Josh and Chris.
Bev had a zest for life and loved to travel. She strongly believed in giving to others, led by example, and encouraged everyone around her to perform acts of kindness. There was nothing she was more proud of than her children and her three granddaughters. She was an amazing mom and grandma!
Everyone who knew Bev was touched by her quick wit and great sense of humour. We are so thankful for all of the laughs we shared and the amazing memories we treasure.
A funeral service to celebrate Bev’s life was held Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 at Christ Lutheran Church, Neudorf with the Rev. Victoria Mwamasika officiating. The organist, Maureen Pfeifer, led in the hymns, “Seek Ye First, Pass it On, I the Lord of Sea and Sky” and “Joy Returns in the Morning.” A special tribute song, “Flying Free,” was sung by Leah Schick and Linda Jansen. Scripture was read by Judy Buddecke, Lorna Baber and Noelle Decorby, and memories of Bev’s life were shared by Chris Atkinson and her daughter, Tanya. All those who knew and loved Bev were considered honorary pallbearers, and Dan Baber was the urn bearer.
Interment followed in the Baber Cemetery, Neudorf district.
Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.
