away tragically on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at the age of 58 years.
Rod was born on Oct. 29, 1957 in Melville, Sask. (son of Alfred and Lillian Adams (nee Schaefer).
Rod grew up in Melville, Sask. and graduated from Melville Comprehensive High School in 1976. His career started at the Pope & Talbot Ltd. sawmill in Midway, B.C. working with his older brother, John. He then went on to retail management with The Bay in The Pas, Man. and Leaf Rapids, Man. He went back to the sawmill in Midway, B.C. in 1980. In 1986 he went back to retail management with The Bay starting in 100 Mile House, B.C., transferred to Drayton Valley, Alta., then on to Whitehorse, Yukon.
While in Whitehorse, Rod met and married Jackie Brisbois. They enjoyed and loved living in the community until Rod
was transferred to Flin Flon, Man. with the Northern Stores (formerly The Bay), then on to Dryden, Ont. until store closure.
Rod and Jackie moved to Sudbury, Ont. in 1993. Sadly their marriage ended in divorce
in 1995. He moved back to Melville, Sask. starting a new chapter in his life and found his way back into retail management in various locations.
Rod loved life and family meant everything to him. He enjoyed his visits with his mother. He would give the shirt of his back and spend his last dime on anyone. Some of his favorite interests were music, camping, fishing and gardening. Most of all he looked forward to planning
yearly vacations with his brother and best friend, Tim, to many locations in Canada and the States. His favorite being the Black Hills in South Dakota which they frequented often.
