Iris Margaret (nee Pearce) Plumb, our beloved Mom, Wife (57 Years), Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Sister. Mom was called home by her Lord on November 15, 2015. She was 93 years young and enjoyed a very healthy life. She passed away with her family at her side for her final journey to heaven. Mom was born March 4, 1922 in Yorkton, SK and grew up in Rokeby, SK. Mom met the love of her life, Forry Plumb, and they were married in 1941 and moved to Assiniboia, SK after a short time in Yorkton. Mom worked side by side with Dad in the theatre business. Mom ran the concession stand and was very involved in the Kinsmen/Kinette Club. In 1958 they bought  the Esso Service Station/Restaurant in Whitewood SK, where Mom put her cooking and people skills to work and ran a very successful restaurant, while Dad ran the service station until 1976. Mom’s kids often joked about how many pies Mom had made in her restaurant, all before 8 a.m. every day, with Saskatoon pie being her most scrumptious; we all knew how to pick Saskatoon berries and loved the outing with her. In 1965, Mom and and Dad bought a cabin at Round Lake, SK, and this quickly became her most cherished place as an escape. Mom was a prolific cook and an outstanding people Plumbperson. Mom had many loves: dogs or any kind of animal, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, cards (all kinds), Mahjong, golfing, baseball and the Riders. Mom had a green thumb for gardening, flowers and indoor plants. Mom retired in 1976 and moved to Regina where Dad ran three self-serve service stations until 1985, and then Mom enjoyed her four to six months a year in El Centro, CA and back to the lake for the summer. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Forry Plumb,Momand Dad, Art and Mary Pearce, sister Bev (Austin) Brawdy. Mom is survived by her sister June (Norm) Clark and loving children, Karen (Jack) Smith, Forrest (Elaine), Bill (Karen), and very special to her were her grandchildren, Kelly, Leanne, Jason, Chris, Maegan, Tyler, Ryan and Brendon, and also great-grandmother to 11 great-grandchildren. The family is eternally grateful to the wonderful staff of Sherbrooke nursing home, 2nd Floor, Prairie Lane, for the love, caring, dignity and respect they showed our Mom. As per Mom’s request of no funeral there will be a celebration of life at 3048 Birch Crescent, Regina, SK on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 4 p.m. Mom was dearly loved and she will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society.
