Margaret Cummins, late of Whitewood, SK, passed away at Lakeside Nursing Home, Wolseley, SK on December 31, 2014 at the age of 83 years. Margaret Elizabeth was born August 28, 1931 in the R.M. of Silverwood to Clarence and Elsie (nee Johnson) Scott.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents Elsie (nee Johnson) and Clarence Scott; brother Gordon Scott; sisters Alice Scott, Dora Delmage and Mildred MacPherson and her husband Kenny; niece Pansy McMann; nephew Forest McMann; and great-nephew Michael Roth; mother and father-in-law Elizabeth and Kenneth Cummins; brothers-in-law Jim McMann, Walter Cummins, Joe Cummins and Bob Cummins and his wife Lynne; son-in-law Ken McKnight and daughter-in-law Audrey Cummins.
She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband George Cummins; children David (Janet) Cummins, Dianne McKnight, Gary (Elly-May) Cummins and Glenn Cummins; grandchildren Trevor Cummins, Crystal Cummins, Darcy (Amanda) McKnight, Matthew (Nicole) McKnight, Dawn Cummins, Nicole Cummins and Scott Cummins; great-grandchildren Cadence Cummins, Skyler Ophus-McKnight, Adrie McKnight and Brynlee McKnight; brother Bill Scott; sisters Doreen McMann, Doris (Wayne) Howard and Rosalyn (Bill) Astle; sister-in-law Edna Scott and brother-in-law Al Delmage; members of George’s family, Sue Cummins, Audrey Cummins and Charlie (Faye) Cummins; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Whitewood United Church with the Rev. Barbara Wilkins officiating. The organist, Doreen Lloyd, and the choir led in the hymns “Come In, Come In and Sit Down”, “God Be With You Till We Meet Again” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. All who knew and loved Margaret were considered honorary pallbearers and the urn bearer was David Cummins. Interment will take place in the Wapella Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Whitewood.
