Date of Birth: March 20, 1951
Date of Death: May 25, 2026
On May 25, 2026, Lois passed away peacefully at the age of 75 years in Regina, SK. Lois was a cancer survivor with health issues and had the support and love of her family to keep ongoing as the best she could.
Lois was born on March 30, 1951, in Yorkton, SK, to Bill and Evelyne Ferguson, as the eldest of two children. Lois spent her childhood as an adventurous, outgoing person who was fearless and “tough as nails” in her approach to life. She had a love for social events and activities, horses, dogs, and cats, sports (especially softball and volleyball), flowers – especially tangerine flowers – her favourite colour.
Lois attended and graduated from Burke School and Yorkton Regional High School. Upon graduation, Lois left Yorkton to explore a new life in Regina, then spent some time in Invermere, BC, before returning home to settle in Regina.
Lois was fiercely loving and protective of people she cared deeply about, and her family was no exception – she was always willing to help out when and where needed – that was her optimism and idealism in humanity.
Lois was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Evelyne; brother Bryan; aunts Isabel and Betty; uncle Bob; cousins Dale and Kevin; and sister-in-law, Verna. She leaves to remember and honour her life and memory, her husband Melvin; daughter Kim (Brad), and grandchildren Kira, Tehya and Liam; son James, step-children Brent and Heather (Monty), step-grandchildren Savannah, Teaghan, Brandon (Anastasia) and Shaylynn; niece Wendy; cousins Lois, Connie, Geraldine, Joan, Jeanine, Georgina, Jean, and Karen; numerous extended family members, and lifelong childhood and family friend, John.
A private viewing will be held with the family. Celebration of Life and private interment will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made in Lois’ memory to the Regina Humane Society. In lieu of flowers, everyone is encouraged to give tangerine flowers out to anyone needing a boost in their lives or spirit – it’s what Lois would have wanted.
We love you, Mom.
