In 1979, they decided to purchase land closer to home, moving to the Ebenezer area where they stayed until they retired back into Yorkton in 2012.
Denis was a man of faith and participated in activities associated with St. Gerard’s. He and Marianne led the baptismal program for many years. He curled with the church group and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, helping out with many a bingo over the years. He also served as an officer in the cadets in the early years of their marriage. Once he retired from teaching, Denis took up golfing and went out several times a week with a group of retired teachers. He and Marianne also enjoyed travelling. Cruises were one of their most favoured means of travel although they also thoroughly enjoyed road trips
including semi annual trips to Texas.
