Carrie was born on Jan. 12, 1952 in Kipling, SK. After a brief battle with illness, Carrie passed away peacefully in Wawota, SK on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the age of 74 years.
Carrie was the last of four children born to Alex and Violet Stephen. She spent her childhood in Glenavon and Kennedy, where she made many lifelong friends.
Carrie was known for her involvement in the community, selflessly contributing her time and efforts to various organizations. Her good nature and laugh will be fondly remembered by all. Carrie’s career journey included many different paths and ultimately concluded with her retirement from SaskTel in Saskatoon. Once retired, the town of Kennedy called her back home where she lived until her passing.
Carrie spent a great deal of time making memories with her extended family and many friends and will be dearly missed by all that loved her.
She is survived by her brothers Don (Maxine) Stephen and Roland Stephen; sister-in-law Lynn Stephen; nieces and nephews: Marnie (Gilbert) L’Heureux, Sheila (Terry) Gibson, Gayle McDonald, Dane (Anna Robinson) Stephen and Danielle Stephen; seven great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece; as well as many friends and relatives.
Carrie was predeceased by her parents Alex and Violet Stephen; sister Audrey McDonald; brother-in-law Harry McDonald; niece Wendy McLean and dear friends George and Doreen Cancade.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Kennedy Friendship Centre.
