Date of Birth: July 10, 1950
Date of Death: April 13, 2026
Heather Stratton, age 75, passed away peacefully at the Whitewood Community Health Centre on Monday, April 13, 2026.
Heather was born on July 10, 1950, in Regina, SK. She grew up in Arcola, SK, and later attended hairdressing school in Regina. It was there she met Allan, and they were married on Oct. 12, 1974.
Together they moved to the family farm, where they resided for many years, though it’s safe to say Heather may not have fully realized at the time that she was signing up for farm life. As it turned out, she handled it just fine.
Heather was predeceased by her father, John Moore; her mother, Doris Moore; and her father- and mother-in-law, Gerald and Helen Stratton.
Heather was a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother who dearly loved her family. She was very mindful of making sure her family was always cared for, whether that meant a warm meal on the table or clean laundry ready when it was needed. She will be remembered for her kindness and her love of vegetable and flower gardening. Heather also enjoyed baking, and her grandchildren especially looked forward to her carrot cake, peanut brittle, bran muffins and iced Christmas cookies. She also had a well-known love of candy, always enjoying a sweet treat.
Heather is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Allan Stratton. She will be deeply missed by her children: Michelle Sulz and her husband, Stephen; Brandi Kittelson and her husband, Murray, along with their children Jersey, Jett and Mason; and James Stratton and his wife, Kim.
Heather had a wonderful sense of humour and loved a good laugh, especially her own, which was known to get everyone else laughing right along with her. She also had a stubborn streak, which those who knew her best understood was just part of her charm. She held a quiet, personal faith in Jesus that was meaningful to her throughout her life.
At Heather’s request, no formal funeral will be held.
Instead, her family will gather privately to celebrate her life.
Heather will be forever loved and never forgotten. The family would sincerely like to thank Jacquie and the staff at the Whitewood nursing home for the kindness, care and support shown to our family during the short time she was there.
Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Whitewood and Melville.
