Clara Keller was welcomed into Heaven on Monday, April 1, 2024; she passed away peacefully at St. Paul Lutheran Home at the age of 95 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Darlene (Robert) Taylor and Garnet (Lori) Keller; her grandchildren, Stacey (Jim) Sereda, Angela (Aaron) Friggstad, Jordan (Crystal) Keller, Malori (Jeremy Gates) and Hilary Keller; her great-grandchildren, Robbie
(Erin), Evan, Emma, Kieran, Quinn, Eden, Jackson, Savannah, Olivia, Amari, Paris and Niah. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Kathleen Keller and Lily Keller, and her godchild, Connie MaCrae, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Val; her parents, Gustav and Katharine Banerd; her son, Kelly; her great-grandson, Jonathon Sereda; her brothers, John, Gustav, Jacob, William and Karl; her sisters, Margaret, Katharina, Barbara, Maria, Eleanora and Helena; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Clara was born on Sept. 28, 1928, at Neudorf, Sask. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and received her education at Baber school. On May 25,1947, she married Val Keller; together they farmed in the Lemberg area until 1956 when they moved to Melville. In 1975 Val and Clara once again became full-time farmers.
Clara was always busy. She was an excellent homemaker, enjoying gardening, baking, cooking and entertaining family and friends. She especially loved children. At family gatherings, she was often found playing a game or just visiting with the kids. Clara was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, helping out when she was needed. She enjoyed her many years of coffee dates with her friends and neighbours.
Clara was a kind and loving soul. She will be dearly missed.
Clara’s funeral service was held Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Melville, with interment in the Melville City Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.
