In keeping with “Mom’s” (Joan Bender) wishes, there will be no formal funeral. A celebration of her life will happen sometime this summer.
Joan passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Home, Melville, SK. She was predeceased by her husband Glen in 2007; twins, Dale at birth in 1958 and Darryl on June 2, 1960; parents, Fred and Claira Stein; sister Jean and brother-in-law Ray Hauser; in-laws, Carl and Barbara Bender; and brother-in-law, Cliff Bender.
Joan is survived by her son, Kevin (Tracy) Bender; grandsons, Chance (Caitlin) and children, Paisley, Jack Bender; Cole (Melissa) and children, Trennen, Kasen Bender; daughter, Lisa Ross and friend Rob Blake; grandsons, Kair (Kristen) and daughter Jayda; and Kane Ross; Rob’s children, Polly and Fabian; Kair and Kane’s dad, Mark Ross; brother-in-law, Darcy Bender; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Bender and her family. Autum Kauf, Bourque, her husband Paul and children, Addison and Chloe; and many cousins and friends.
Could you drink a cup of tea? Sit awhile and chat with me, and talk of things that used to be. Be sure to brew it nice and strong – a good hot cup rights every wrong. So chin up now – no need for tears, we’ve had our share over the years, but that’s what makes us strong.
