Anne was born on Nov. 17, 1922 and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the age of 100 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Steve; mother Vera; father Fabian; and brother Ernest. Anne is survived by her loving daughter, Maryann (Harry); and her sister Elsie. She was a loving grandmother to Sean (Gail) Hopkins and Jacqueline (Kevin) Spencer; and great-grandmother to Adrien, Katelyn, Bradley and Sydney. She will be missed by her brother-in-law, Alec (Helen); nephew Doug; nieces, Karen (Terrance), Brenda, Yvonne (Ron) and Gloria (Tim); and very special cousins, Lorne and Rhona Turbuck.
For over 30 years, she worked beside her husband in their jewelry store in Fort Qu’Appelle. Many of their loyal customers came from all around the countryside often becoming good friends. Anne and Steve also toiled in their massive gardens often up at 6 a.m. picking berries or maintaining the flowers and vegetables. She was known for her hospitality and superb cooking. Anne served the bounty from the garden and cold storage to hundreds of friends and family over the years.
Dancing was her next favourite pass time which she enjoyed all her life, even at 100 years old she was still tapping her toes when the music started.
Anne lived at William Albert House since April 22, 2014 where she was a model resident praising the compassionate, caring staff and many friends she made there. Anne passed away to join her husband Steve in heaven just in time to plant the heavenly garden this spring and to dance the nights away. Thank you sincerely to the staff at William Albert House for their exemplary care.
