Armed RCMP officers stand outside a motel in Melville following a shooting death this morning. Two suspects are at large and their direction of travel and location is unknown. (Jacob Miller | Grasslands News).

A Dangerous Person Alert has been issued province wide following a homicide involving a firearm that occurred today in Melville. RCMP report that they believed there to be two suspects involved. No descriptions available and RCMP currently say the location of suspects or direction of travel is unknown. A vehicle that may be involved has been located abandoned on Highway #10 near Duff, SK. 

RCMP are currently on scene at a motel in Melville and are continuing to respond and investigate. People are urged to be cautious.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PUBLIC:

  • Do not pick up hitch hikers.
  • Report all stolen vehicles to police.
  • Be cautious of someone asking for a ride or suspicious persons on property.
  • The public should remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police.
  • Call 911 in emergencies.
