Beatrice was born at Chaplin, SK on Nov. 6, 1920 and she was the daughter ofJohn and Maria (Hiebert) Kehl. She had eight siblings. She married George Paice Nov. 13, 1948 and they farmed outside Whitewood on a family farm known as Major Hill Farm, a municipal heritage property. They had two children Vivian and Richard. They were married for 69 years. Beatrice loved the farm life and especially her garden and cactus plants. When George and Beatrice retired and sold the farm they went to Regina and then as seniors came back to Whitewood community.
Beatrice was known for her strength and great attitude on life and she was full of sunshine and love for everyone she met! She loved sewing and crocheting , cooking and baking especially with her grandchildren, picking berries and playing cards. Her and her sisters made the most beautiful jelly salads and loved a good tea party! She loved to fish and travel and they did many fishing trips with their family and friends. Beatrice and George loved Mexico most and spent many winters there in retirement. And most of all they loved their family time especially with their grandchildren – she planned family dinners and loved Chinese food together with her children and grandchildren. She loved to go to dances and was good at the polka and waltz and enjoyed music.
Beatrice and George spent their last few years together in the Whitewood nursing home and received amazing care. She was known to everyone as their Queen B! Beatrice was full of strength and love right til the day she passed and was surrounded by her loving family and friends and “her girl” as she called her staff that cared for her so beautifully-she was one of a kind and will be missed by all! Some of her last words were and she said it often to those she loved “ I love you-I always have and I always will, and I love you all the same!”
