Ewald passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 15, 2021 in Fraserview Care Home in Richmond, B.C. after a long struggle with health issues.
He was predeceased by his parents, Rudolf and Katie Wittmaier; his sister, Elsie Kujus and husband Hans; and his brother, Eddie Wittmaier.
He is survived by his sister, Erika Brandt (Don); nephew Christian (Lana); grandbabies, Otis and Abby; and niece Courtenay Brandt. He is also survived by nieces, Sue (Bill)
Bailey; great-nieces, Ashleigh and Caylagh and Kathy (Peter) Hutten; great-nieces, Sarah, Anna and Karina in Germany; also nephews, Eddy Wittmaier and Keiran Wittmaier; and nieces, Holly Tesselaar (John) and Shannon Wittmaier and their children.
Ewald was an amazingly gentle soul who was loved by all. He will forever be in our hearts.
At his request, his ashes will be scattered at a later date in the Pacific Ocean in Canada and in Australia.
