Date of Birth: January 10, 1953

Date of Death: December 30, 2020

Ivan Zabinsky, the best husband, dad, grandpa and brother, passed away peacefully after a short, but courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon.
Ivan was born on Jan. 10, 1953 and grew up on the family farm in Goodeve, SK. Over the years, he lived and worked in the Yorkton and Melville area before moving to Saskatoon in 2008. On Oct. 11, 1975, Ivan married Evelyn and created his greatest accomplishment; his family. He loved a good joke, classic rock, good Ukrainian polka music and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Ivan was most happy in his garage or yard, tuning up lawn mowers or using the snowblower in the winter. He loved animals, going out for ice cream and striking up a conversation with anyone. Above all, he loved his family unconditionally and his grandchildren were his true pride and joy. He spent his life taking care of his family and always putting us first.
Ivan will be missed and remembered by his wife and best friend, Evelyn; his children and their families: Tricia (Myron) Glova and their children, Parker and Emma; Trevor (Katie) and their daughter Isabelle; Terri (Aaron) Fenwick and their son Hudson; Trent (Kerra) and their children, Payton and Brayden; his sister, Diane Zabinsky; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.
Ivan was predeceased by his parents, John and Helen Zabinsky; and younger brother, Jimmy.
A Private Family Funeral Service will be held at Park Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 with Rev. Fr. Andre Lalach officiating.
Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical community that provided care and support for Ivan over the past four months; we don’t have the words to express our gratitude.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities Saskatchewan or enjoy a cold beer while watching the Riders play their first home game in the upcoming season. To share memories and condolences, visit www.parkfuneral.ca “Obituaries-Guestbook”.
Arrangements entrusted to Greg Lalach, Park Funeral Home 306-244-2103.
