Arlene Clara Brickner of the Ituna and District Pioneer Lodge, and formerly of Melville, wife of the late Joseph Brickner, passed away at the Pasqua Hospital on Monday, July 21 2020. She was 76 years of age.
Arlene was born Jan. 24, 1944 in Strabourg, Sask. and was the eldest of four children to Albert and Muriel Oehler. She attended school in Strasboug and grew up on the family farm. Arlene left the farm and moved to Moose Jaw, Sask. where she met, and then married Joseph Brickner. The couple resided in Moose Jaw for a while, then moved to Melville where they raised their son Joseph (Joey). Arlene loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She also enjoyed gardening and socializing with family, friends and members of the community. Arlene had a great interest in bible studies and her faith in the lord. She was always there to offer a hand or a visit.
Predeceased by her husband, Joe Brickner; parents, Albert and Murial; and her three siblings, Bob Oehler, Larry Oehler and Wilbert Oehler. Arlene leaves to mourn her passing: her son, Joe (Victoria) Brickner; grandchildren, Sawyer and Quinn Brickner of Leduc Alta.; brother-in-law, John (Rose) Brickner; and numerous nieces and nephews and close friends.
The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff of the Ituna Pioneer Lodge for their compassionate and unwavering care of Arlene for the 10 years she was a resident of the home. She made many memories there and loved the time she spent with her friends.
