VARGA – Adeline Varga passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018.
Adeline was born June 9, 1932 to Carl and Evelyn Stradeski of Grayson, Sask. She attended Farrell School. As a young woman, she worked at the coffee shop in Grayson and at St. Peter’s Hospital in Melville, Sask.
Adeline married Alfred Varga on Oct. 15, 1958, in Melville, Sask. and together they had five children.
Adeline loved gardening; her flowers were a source of pride and passion for her. She enjoyed dancing, music and visiting with her friends and neighbours, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Adeline is survived by her children, Robert (Verna) Varga, Dalton (Myrna) Varga, Jeff (Joan) Varga and Janine (Shelby) Borys; grandchildren, Jarrett (Vanessa) Varga, Brandon (Amanda) Varga, Kristen (Mitchell) Schlamp, Chandra Jackson, Seth (Brittany) Varga and Savanna Varga; great-grandchildren, Bryce Varga, Evan Varga, Emerson Varga, Vincent Varga, Grayson Varga, Bennett Schlamp, Madisyn Jackson and Tyson Jackson; ever-present, loving, Harry Hladun; as well as many friends and relatives.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Varga, in a tragic accident on April 23, 1968; and her son, Dale Varga on Aug. 13, 2008; her parents, Carl and Evelyn Stradeski; parents-in-law, Mike and Annie Varga; sisters, Frieda Kormos, Violet Ottenbreit and Janet Sawchyn; brothers, Wilfred, Walter, Gordon and Ted Stradeski; brothers-in-law, Alec Kormos, Ernest Varga, Gerald Zeleny, James Varga and Adam Ottenbreit; and sisters-in-law, Hilda Varga, Margaret Zeleny, Vivian
Stradeski and Hilda Stradeski.
A very special thank you to St. Paul Lutheran Home for the years of care they provided, especially the comfort and care they provided in her last days.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Arthritis Society or the Alzheimer Society of Canada in honour of Adeline Varga.
Adeline’s funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018 at Matthews Funeral Home, Melville with the Rev. Fr. Andrew Sowa presiding and Len Varga providing the music.
Interment took place at St. Henry’s Parish Cemetery with Jarrett Varga, Brandon Varga, Seth Varga, Mitchell Schlamp, Dwayne Varga and Shelby Borys acting as pallbearers.
