FEDUK – Eugene Theodore Feduk of Birmingham, SK passed away suddenly on Friday, March 9, 2018, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Melville, following an unexpected illness.
Eugene was born July 24, 1944, in Melville, SK. He was a son of William and Alice (nee Halyk) Feduk.
Eugene grew up and helped with work on the family farm in Birmingham. Eugene received his elementary education at Wilton School, which later became Birmingham School. He attended Melville High School and studied agriculture for three years of post-secondary education at the University of Saskatchewan. After attending university, he worked for Canadian National telecommunications. Later he went to work in the oilfield as a tool push becoming a senior rig manager, and eventually becoming a consultant on the drilling rigs in Alberta.
When he met Brenda Manske, his former girlfriend while working on the rigs, Eugene took her young son, Randy Ferrier under his wing and raised him as his own. As Randy grew older, they stayed very close, and when he spoke of Randy, he always beamed with pride. When he retired from consulting, he returned to Birmingham and continued to work on the farm.
He is predeceased by his father and mother, William (1987) and Alice (1973); sister-in-law, Judy Feduk (2013); nephew, Guy Ouellette (2009).
Eugene is survived by his son, Randy (Diane) Ferrier and their children Dawson and Natalie; brothers, Dennis and Morris Feduk; nieces, Dianne Ouellette and Allison Feduk; great-niece, Madison Ouellette; and great-nephew, Alexander Ouellette and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 16, 2018 from the First United Church in Melville with Rev. Brian Mee Officiating.
Arrangements were by Bailey’s Funeral Home, Melville.
